Shopping?

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

The term ’shopping’ never really appeal to me much, simple as i am, i hope this word will never stimulate any part of my sympathetic system.

But this week, I think I’ve finally tasted the goodness of shopping which can trigger such great excitement in many individuals! Just a mere 7 days.. I have definitely spent more money on shopping than the rest of my life combined!

Starting from our trip Singapore, as Jay had throroughly described, the last day was the most ‘profitable’ for Singapore. I paid 80 sing dollars for a pair of sandals and something else for my girlfriend *wink*. They day before, I bought jigsaw puzzles, SD card, chocolates for my teacher.. Cost = RM200 + *wink* + RM100!

After a two day break, my shopping spree continued with Nana, Jay and Wenhao in 1 Utama! We had a good farewell tea time with Nana before she left for Auckland. We ended up in Jusco after that and I am now a U2 shirt, a pullover and polo tee richer! Cost = roughly RM200!

Today, I went on my own to 1 Utama again and I vowed to leave right after I got what I needed. True enough, I left an hour later.. with 1 hushpuppies beige pants, 3 U2 black slacks, 4 Hangten polo tees and 6 Baleno plain-coloured t-shirts! Cost = about RM700!

I never knew spending money could be so simple. I have to claim that the money spent are considered reasonable because I have never in my life spent much money buying clothes for myself. And I am going to Australia soon!

Shopping in definitely fun! The thought of wearing new clothings excites us and stimulates our limbic system which produces the sensation of feeling good. Everyone likes new stuff. That is why people crave for new things!

If we take this point a step further, we can realize that shopping may not be just for ourselves. But more importantly, shopping creates an open door for us to show our concern to the people we love! Just like our parents who buy new shirts for us every Chinese New Year when we were young, the shirts represent their love for us!

And the fact that the recipient of your ‘love’ appreciates your deed proves to provide much more satisfaction - as the saying ‘to give is better than to receive’ goes!

So now.. It’s our responsibilty to cultivate this great action of ’showing the love’. When we shop, do keep the people whom we care most in mind and in any instance we notice something that maybe of need to the person, grab it and present it to him! This world will surely be a better place!

For those who read this, I NEED a new 3G handphone, a ZARA rm500 beige coat, a new camera (lumix fx07 would be just nice)… :o)

Peace!

Post EOS

Time flies. And it really does. It’s barely a week since EOS 5 ended and so much has happened. Of all, the most memorable events were my trips to the airport!

I’ve been there 3 times within this week.

The 1st. The day after EOS, Sunday, sending Steph back to KK. We din sleep much the night before. Went partying in Laundry Bar in the Curve before coming back to her house for some final pack up. Thank you Jay for coming over early in the morning to help us. We had her whole room stuffed in my car!

The 2nd. The following Sunday, receiving Steph and her dad from KK. It was an exciting moment. I arrived half an hour earlier than her arrival in LCCT. Seeing her smile as she walks out through the gate tells me that the hour drive was totally worthwhile. We had dinner in Outback, next to Low Yat. After that, we joined the others on a mission in Tiffin Bar, in Starhill. Surprise surprise Li yeen! Happy birthday to you again! :o) Jing was the man of the day. This was what happened.. Liyeen grumbled that she had to go down to Seremban on Saturday and run some errands on Sunday which left her no time to spend with Jing (they meet every weekend). So he told her that he had holiday on Monday due to SULTAN of NEGERI SEMBILAN’s birthday!Hmm.. That statement made her day, but poor Jing had to rush back to Seremban after the celebration, which was easily 1am!:o) Steph and I left at 12, came back to my house for another round of packing up.

The 3rd. The next day, Monday, sending Steph off to Australia. We only had less than 5 hours of sleep before we had to make our way to IMU to collect our EOS results! Our batch made record again that no one was on the viva list and only one person failed. :o) Good job M2/04! We had lunch in Miu Kai. Ken, Darren and Jay came over to my house and we left for the airport at 5pm. Thank you guys for accompanying me and making my trip easier! :o) The final moments before departure were very emotional. The Ins went round saying bye and hugging those leaving. I bade final farewell to Steph and she went down the escalator.. :o)

All the best to you darling! Touch many people’s heart as Ps Tim has prophesied! Love ya!
